GRANTS FOR LICENSED & REGISTERED CHILD CARE PROGRAMS

Licensed and Registered child care providers are eligible to apply for funding to stabilize their child care business. This includes support to maintain or resume offering child care services. Funds can be used for operating expenses like personnel costs, rent and utilities, health and safety training, facility maintenance, equipment and more. Providers could receive 80 – 100% of their operating expenses. Applications Open October 7, 2021

Allowable operating expenses include:

  • Personnel costs including benefits, premium pay, bonuses, and recruitment and retention
  • Rent or mortgage
  • Facility expenses including utilities, insurance, maintenance, and minor improvements
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) including cleaning and sanitation supplies and services
  • Training and professional development for staff on health and safety practices
  • Equipment and supplies in response to COVID-19
  • Goods and services necessary to maintain or resume services

Are You Eligible for the Montana One Time Child Care Stabilization Grant?  Answer Yes or No to each of the questions:

  1. Is your child care business licensed or registered by Montana Child Care Licensing?
  2. Is your child care business in good standing with Montana Child Care Licensing?
  3. Are you open and providing child care or temporarily closed due to public health, financial hardship, or other reasons relating to the COVID-19 public health emergency?
  4. Is your business registered and current with the Montana Secretary of State?

If you said yes to all the questions, you are eligible!

DPHHS will be accepting Child Care Stabilization grant applications in early October! The checklist below will help guide you as you prepare to complete the application. You may need to contact your bookkeeper to answer questions on your business expenses.

  • eMACS account(you will need an email account)
  • PV #
  • Registration with the Montana Secretary of State
  • Average enrollment by child’s age in January 2020
  • Current average enrollment by child’s age
  • Salary scale
  • Current and anticipated monthly allowable operating expenses for:
    • Personnel
    • Rent, mortgage, and facility maintenance
    • Personal protective equipment (PPE), cleaning and sanitation supplies and services
    • Health and safety training
    • Equipment and supplies to respond to COVID-19
    • Goods and services necessary to maintain or resume child care services
  • Money spent on operating expenses listed above between March 1, 2020 and February 28, 2021
  • COVID-19 relief funds your business has already received
  • Bank account and routing numbers
  • W-9
  • Consider opting in to Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation (IECMHC)
