Safe Sleep 1 and 2 Requirements

As of July 2012, child care regulations (ARM 37.95.1005 (10)) require the provider and all staff providing care to children under age 2 to receive training in an approved safe sleep curriculum.  The safe sleep curriculum approved by the department is a two part course that is available on-line only.
The first course is available through the American Academy of Pediatrics. The second course is through www.childcaretraining.org .  Safe Sleep 1 must be completed prior to Safe Sleep 2. The curriculum is approved for two hours and both courses must be completed in order to meet the training requirement.  If you have questions about accessing these courses or about the State’s requirement of this training, visit the state’s website here.
