Professional Development Specialist/STARS Consultant

Family Connections is seeking a positive professional who is motivated, organized, and creative with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Early childhood or related degree is preferred. Experience working in a child care setting is required. Responsibilities: Develop and facilitate classroom, distance, and onsite professional development training; coaching/mentoring of child care providers, assist STARS providers in navigating levels in the STARS program. 30-40 hours/week, some night/weekend work and travel required. Health insurance and additional great benefits. Ability to lift 25 lbs. This position will be in Region 6 which consists of the following counties: Hill, Blaine, Phillips, Valley, Daniels, Sheridan, Roosevelt, Garfield, McCone, Richland, Dawson, Prairie, and Wibaux. You must reside in one of these counties.

Other Duties: Provide supportive guidance to child care providers to help them enhance the social, emotional, intellectual, and physical growth of children in their care through training and technical assistance. Implement the STARS provider recruitment plan, facilitate classroom/onsite training and research/recruit guest speakers. Develop training plans to support the STARS to Quality program through ongoing review and training. Attend local/state/national conferences, trainings, outreach activities, task forces and other meetings.
